Austin's best-kept secret
on 6th Street
The Firehouse Lounge is a fully operating speakeasy bar hidden inside the lobby of a historic hostel — Austin's oldest fire station, built in 1885. No street entrance, no sign, no menu posted outside. Just a bookshelf that moves.

There's no sign.
You found it anyway.
Not many people do. Here's how to get in.
ENTER THE HOSTEL
605 Brazos St. Walk through the front doors like you belong. Nobody will stop you.
FIND THE BOOKSHELF
Floor-to-ceiling. Leather spines. Find the handle on the shelf.
PULL. PUSH. ENTER.
The shelf moves. The wall opens. Step inside.
BRING AN ID
The Lounge is 21+ only. The doorman doesn't make exceptions. Neither do we.
What you'll find
once you find it.
COCKTAILS & BEERS
Every cocktail is built by hand — seasonal menus, local spirits, recipes we don't publish. Ask quietly for something off-menu. Rotating Texas craft taps if you prefer a cold one.
NON-ALCOHOLIC SURPRISES
Not drinking? You're still in for a great time. Our bartenders take zero-proof just as seriously — Custom Mocktails, Bitters and Soda Builds, and more creative options. The Lounge is a good time for everyone.
LIVE MUSIC & NEW FRIENDS
Most nights, someone's on stage. Local artists, no cover, the kind of intimate show where you end up talking to the person next to you. That's the whole point.
New Artists
and Musicians
Most nights, someone's playing. The stage is small, the room is warm, and the sound carries in a way bigger venues can't replicate.
